An acoustic guitar uses steel-string and hence resonates a very good loud noise. Also, such guitars don't need electrical amplification. In short, an acoustic guitar creates sound through vibrating strings. Below is an image of an acoustic guitar for clear reference.

An acoustic guitar  produces sound acoustically that is by transmitting the vibration of the strings to the air. It does not  rely on electronic amplification as electric guitar does. The sound waves which generate from the strings of an acoustic guitar vibrate through the guitar’s body and create sound. This usually involves the use of a sound board and a sound box to strengthen the vibrations of the strings.
