My teaching technique is interactive and multidimensional, reflects the teaching of my father, Ananta Makhal, who was one of the pioneers of western classical music in India, a blessed Violin teacher, producing innumerable professional western classical violinists from Kolkata. I happened to land in Hyderabad for a music project in 2002, fell in love with the city, and decided to stay back.
I believe in a strong technical foundation that includes posture, right and left hand technique, sound quality, expression and intonation. In addition, I make an effort to teach musicality, self-awareness, and analytical thinking. I feel , it is important for a student to understand the impact they make on the general listeners/audience while playing the violin, and how the violin magnifies his/her life with the grand treasure of Western Classical music. My purpose is to conduct each student to become a technically sound, musical, and self-reliant musician, who enjoys playing the violin.
